Pretty - Deadly

Nearly five inches of snow brought travel chaos to Britain today as temperatures plummeted to minus six degrees - with flights cancelled, motorists stranded and rail services disrupted.
The UK's second-busiest airport - Gatwick in West Sussex - had to shut for more than seven hours, while there were no early-morning flights at Luton airport in Bedfordshire.
A series of accidents, including some involving jack-knifed lorries, led to road closures, with a section of the M40 in Buckinghamshire shut in both directions during the morning rush-hour.

Be Safe.. Don't take Risks with Ice & Snow

I don't think that the person who owns this bike was feeling very adventurous today.. I can't say that I am blame him. This was taken on the 17th December 2009

Thursday 17th of December - Snow in Kent

Thanks to the gentleman who shot this film in Edenbridge in Kent..
this was exactley the journey I faced getting home late on Thursday night from Rochester to Maidstone and the conditions were very scary to say the least.
Most towns were at a standstill and Bluebell Hill was closed with many cars abandoned..It took me two hours to do a 25 minute journey and I have to say I was very lucky .. my front tyres need replacing and I slid and hit the kerb on a few occaisions.. fortunately there were no dents and I arrive home with a big sigh of relief
No doubt there will be many more stories in the press on Friday morning..

Now Camerons new Cutie falls foul of the Suffolk Swedes

Katy Bourne, one of the favourites to be picked as the Central Suffolk candidate at
a meeting on Friday, was born in London, brought up in Surrey and now lives in
Sussex, where until recently she ran a dance studio. Mrs Bourne is on a shortlist of six people for the seat, none of whom is local.

The rebels – dubbed the ‘Suffolk Swedes’ – have noted with alarm that Mrs Bourne’s dance studio was a raunchy business called Rebel Roc, which specialised in teaching Dirty Dancing-style moves to couples.

Saying Goodbye

Saying Goodbye can be so very painful and never more so than when you don't want to. Today I have had to say a final farewell to something and someone that is causing me so much pain and distress.
Being the hopeless romantic that I am I never know when to give up, so when I am still hoping that things will get better they have gotten a lot worse.
Sharing this on my public blog is my way of accepting the end and hopefully it will allow me to really say that final goodbye.
Any tips on survival will be most welcome. Comments below:

Christmas Advert for Morrisons

Can you believe it took several days of filming for the few seconds of film that ended up on our screens?
Take a look a the short clip of Richard Hammond in Calverley Park Gardens, Tunbridge Wells.. I was there for only a few minutes..Lond enough to make a 4 minute video (Naughty) The film set crew were there for 3 days and  if you watch the advert its amazing how little of the filming was actually used.. the Extras who hoped they may have been featured must be gutted..
I would love to know how much it actually cost to make the advert? Any guesses?

Now watch the real advert:

Have a fresh Christmas

Fans To Boycott X Factor Over Jedward

7:08pm UK, Monday November 09, 2009

Elizabeth Scott, Sky News Online
Fans of The X Factor are threatening to boycott the show following Simon Cowell's shock decision to save twins John and Edward, who he has previously described as "appalling".

The X factor judge was left with the final decision after Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue voted to keep Lucie Jones in the competition.

The 18-year-old had found herself in the bottom two alongside Louis Walsh's act, dubbed "Jedward".

"I don't know if I can watch the X Factor anymore," said another, "It is becoming a huge joke!"

Cowell recently claimed he would leave the country if John and Edward won The X Factor.

The twins appear to be loved and loathed in equal measure but have amassed a large following over the past few weeks despite heavy criticism of their singing.

Disgruntled fans have questioned whether the show can still be called a "talent competition".

"This is clearly no longer about the quality of the singing," wrote one viewer.

Another complained: "Simon said he was going to save the person who does the best in the sing-off and clearly Lucie was the better vocalist."

Lamborgini Gallardo - Wikipedia Style

My Facebook friend Astrid. I particularly love the sleek lines ..
Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.,[Notes 1] commonly referred to as Lamborghini (pronounced [lamˈborɡini] (Speaker Icon.svg listen)), is an Italian automaker based in the small township of Sant'Agata Bolognese. The company was founded in 1963 by manufacturing magnate Ferruccio Lamborghini. It has changed ownership numerous times since, most recently becoming a subsidiary of German car manufacturer Audi AG (itself a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group) in 1998.[1][2] Lamborghini has achieved widespread recognition for its sleek, exotic designs, and its cars have become symbols of performance and wealth.
Ferruccio Lamborghini entered the automobile manufacturing business with the aim of producing a high-quality grand tourer that could outperform and outclass offerings from local rival Ferrari S.p.A. The company's first models had uninspired styling and were of lesser build quality, and sold in far fewer numbers to equivalent Ferrari offerings. Lamborghini met with success in 1966 with the release of the mid-engined Miura sports coupé, and in 1968 with the Espada GT, the latter of which sold over 1,200 units during ten years of production. After almost a decade of rapid growth, and the release of classic models like the Countach in 1974, hard times befell the company in the late 1970s, as sales plunged in the wake of the 1973 oil crisis. Bankruptcy crippled the automaker, and after passing through the hands of a number of Swiss entrepreneurs, Lamborghini came under the corporate umbrella of industry giant Chrysler. The American company failed to make the Italian manufacturer profitable, and in 1994, the company was sold to Indonesian interests. Lamborghini would remain on life support throughout the rest of the 1990s, continuously updating the Diablo of 1990 in lieu of a planned expanded range of offerings, including a smaller car that would appeal to American enthusiasts. Reeling from the Asian financial crisis of the previous year, in 1998 Lamborghini's owners sold the troubled automaker to AUDI AG, the luxury car subsidiary of German automotive conglomerate Volkswagen AG. German ownership marked the beginning of a period of stability and increased productivity for Lamborghini, with sales increasing nearly tenfold over the course of the next decade.

Hopefully, I will be attending the dance tonight at the Rivolli Ballroom
A wonderland of plush red velvet gold-framed walls, Austrian crystal chandeliers and oversized Chinese lanterns, the Rivoli Ballroom is the only intact 1950s ballroom in London and remains one of its best kept secrets.  Much loved by the local community, the Rivoli has been through previous incarnations as a music hall, and picture house, and has been restored with care and passion by Bill and Jean, who have taken care of the building for over 30 years.

Succubus ~ A licentious female demon which takes on the illusory appearance of a female human being and seeks copulation with men whilst they are sleeping.

The Queen of all the Succubi was Nahemah. According to the view of most medieval theologians, incubi outnumbered succubi by nine to one, but the ladies made up in menace for what they lacked in numbers by being alluring & persuasive, using their considerable, powerful charms to seduce men & lead them to eternal damnation.

Its Here! - Secret Footage of "Take That"

More about THE HAMPSTER

He's usually wringing the top speed out of a turbo-boosted sports car. But Richard Hammond sensibly took it much slower in the snow with this four-wheeler.
BBC2's Top Gear presenter Hammond was filming a scene for a TV commercial for Christmas for supermarket chain Morrisons.
Richard, shooting in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, is seen taking shelter from the fake snow under an umbrella and pushing a shopping trolley through the snow past a group of carol singers.

Band -"Take That" in T.Wells?

It was said on National Radio yesterday morning that the Band "Take That" are in New York and were seen going into a recording studio with Robbie Williams.
Today on "Twitter" it is rumoured that they may be in Tunbridge Wells?
There is a big film set being constructed in Calverley Park as we speak and its for a Morrisons advert  they tell me.
Richard Hammond has been see around on the set and he is starring in it evidently?
On the other hand was the truth that "Take That" are in the Advert and the media do not want T.Wells to be overrun with crowds?
I have seen the photos of the set and its a big production. The BBC webcam that covers the park for weather has been discontinued? Interesting rumours eh?

Vestibular Problems - Labyrinthitus

One of the first "general" interventions for vestibular problems were the Cawthorne-Cooksey exercises, as shown below. These are a one page handout of activities that progress from simple head movement to complex activities such as throwing a ball. Click here for a general discussion of vestibular rehabilitation.

Cawthorne Cooksey Exercises

  1. In bed or sitting
    1. Eye movements -- at first slow, then quick
      1. up and down
      2. from side to side
      3. focusing on finger moving from 3 feet to 1 foot away from face
    2. Head movements at first slow, then quick, later with eyes closed
      1. bending forward and backward
      2. turning from side to side.
  2. Sitting
    1. Eye movements and head movements as above
    2. Shoulder shrugging and circling
    3. Bending forward and picking up objects from the ground
  3. Standing
    1. Eye, head and shoulder movements as before
    2. Changing from sitting to standing position with eyes open and shut
    3. Throwing a small ball from hand to hand (above eye level)
    4. Throwing a ball from hand to hand under knee
    5. Changing from sitting to standing and turning around in between
  4. Moving about (in class)
    1. Circle around center person who will throw a large ball and to whom it will be returned
    2. Walk across room with eyes open and then closed
    3. Walk up and down slope with eyes open and then closed
    4. Walk up and down steps with eyes open and then closed
    5. Any game involving stooping and stretching and aiming such as bowling and basketball
Diligence and perseverance are required but the earlier and more regularly the exercise regimen is carried out, the faster and more complete will be the return to normal activity. Ideally these activities should be done with a supervised group. Individual patients should be accompanied by a friend or relative who also learns the exercises.

Labyrinthitis.org.uk - support for Labyrinthitis sufferers.

The
fact that you have arrived at this site implies either you or someone you
know has had or still has the inner ear infection Labyrinthitis. The norm
for Labyrinthitis is to last between 3 and 8 weeks and then disappear without
so much of a trace. For a fair number however this does not happen and long
after the doctor has said "You'll be fine in a few weeks" such people have
noticed no improvement, let alone a recovery.

This website is for those people who have been suffering for months
and years rather than weeks. The website will explain this syndrome of
"Uncompensated Labyrinthitis" whereby the brain or CNS has not yet compensated
for the inner ear injury.

We are two UK sufferers who have been inspired to form this site in
an attempt to inform and help others out there who are going through the
same experience. Our aim is to make the difficult, emotional and pretty
devastating "Labyrinthitis journey" which we have experienced, that little
bit easier.

As we have realised, vestibular disorders are so often misunderstood
by the general public as well as health professionals and we feel the
need to raise this understanding and awareness of such a disabling condition.

If we are able to inform and support a handful of people, then in our
eyes this website is a job well done.

Another Rough Day

Day 10 and no improvement at this stage. the tablets seems to be making things worse. If no improvement tomorrow then I may have to stop taking them.

No progress yet

DAY 9
I was expecting to be on the mend by now, but it seems not.
It's a worrying time now as the symptoms are still there and I cannot
drive. My long term job prospects are becoming an issue in my mind of
course and I need to get back to work as soon as possible. The doctor
has given me some tablets to try and it's now a case of hope and prayer.

Still can't walk straight

It's getting fucking serious now... 03:15 and still can't sleep and another day of walking about like a drunk but without the booze.

The doctor had better be coming up with some answers coz I am about to jump off Beachy Head

Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
